ok ill acknowledge that bradley is a stud, better than donovan esp at this point, and you can say dempsey and tim howard are better than donovan, but my point is how is the best player in american football history not in the top 23 or whatever. he's not that old. he can make PKs, he can be a sub... but he is good enough to start as well i believe. yeah jozy is gonna start? and donovan can't make the team? it's annoying. i don't care if klinsmann wants to bring in young players, lock up dual citizenship guys, there's no reason he can't find a place for landon, and there's no reason he can't start moving on from the landon era... AFTER this world cup.

i really agree with you, theres no reason donovan isnt on this squad, he probably could start and certainly could be a late game reserve (as you said, hes a good PK taker, he also has a history of clutch play, and hes american inspiring soccer hero #1)
i feel like klinsman is making a statement with his team selection, specifically leaving landon donovan off, but also the more subtle things like getting a lot of young dual citizen dudes (as you mentioned). i always felt really bad about this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giuseppe_Rossi but couldnt blame him, if he could make the italian team, why not do it?
i have a big fear that this USA team is going to get lambasted in every game (i mean, their group is no fucking joke) and klinsmann is going to get fired, thereby nullifying whatever "next-world-cup-cycle" plan he had going
they gotta beat ghana at least or hes fired i think, we are proud here.

he must be really confident in his job security considering he cut landon donovan. because if they lost before he coudl say, shit, tough group, now if they lose even though that excuse obviously still holds he's going to take TONS of shit for not bringing landon

I practice snowboarding. Been a rough week in Chile for this sport thou. Last tuesday Aaron Robinson (pro snowboarder, 24 years old) died when he fell while skiing off track. My best friend (I stay at his place when I go skiing) was with him and was the first one there trying to help him, but there wasn´t much he could do. The rescue team took forever to assist him, and they did a terrible job once they got there. Maybe if this wouldve happened somewhere with better reaction time and more prepared rescuers, he couldve survived. The rescue team was at the base of the mountain, instead of the top, so it took them forever to get to Aaron. Really sad story, specially if you consider that if he wouldve had a helmet on, not only he wouldve survived, but probably nothing at all wouldve happened to him. Same goes to the unprepared ski patrol.
On the bright side, snow here is great and you should definitely come if you love skiing. This has been a terrible year thou, not much snow at all, but I hope it gets better in August. I go to the ski center every friday night (only 45min away from my place) and come back on sundays. I also will spend a week skiing 3 weeks from now, so I really hope it snows some more.
