AGREED. People are noobs and don't invest 1k gold for something that almost always will pay itself off. Chances are most of your ogres won't get to 200 mana but in a long game it can happen often, in which case it's usually pretty easy to pick off some or even a lot of peons. People don't expect/prepare for it either.
Dualing to trees owns. There's no need to build hall #2 by gold if you send all your peons in hall #1 on gold and have all your peons from hall #2 build everything/chop wood.
Using axers to rush wall-ins is underrated. Combined with a few nice peon hops it can be deadly.
Best gow strat ever:
In 2v2 when you and your ally are 9/11, have your ally wall you both in as if it's a dual. Your enemies will be confused as to where the hell you are. While they try to figure it out, both you and your ally chop out with a huge rush. _________________ Wartoo

Ha i'll try that gow strat if i ever get 9/11 in a 2v2, that sounds pretty funny. One funny thing I did in a 2v2 was try to move to 5 from 4, but 5 was taken so I went to s5 instead, and both enimies were 6/5 lol. They were probably wondering where the hell I was in your words
And your absolutely right about runes, it will pay itself off if you can get 1 ogre with 200 mana which is bound to happen. if you rune peoples gold mines, thats a mini death and decay right there, 5 runes for 200 mana. 40 damage each, peons have 30 health. so its capable of killing 5 peons, that costs the enemy 2000 gold + a slower income. the spell costs 1000. Do the math people! Runes is freaking awesome and ownz!
Edit:
Another thing, When I watch people playing humans, which isn't often but when it does happen, they never upgrade knights to paladins. I wonder why, it costs 1000 gold and even if you don't use healing/exorcism, holy vision reveals a gigantic portion of the map, you can check for expos really easy, and check for incoming attacks so you can prepare mage bombs.. When I play humans I research exorcism so I can kill walled in dks at peoples expos. (Needs 240 mana) , use one paladin to holy vision so I can see it, get the 240 mana one to exorcism it. good bye Death knight, now i can attack that expo without being death and decayed!

If you have a good gold flow spot like 12, put one peon early on wood and you can afford 2 rax lvl 4 with early mill. gg _________________ GreenHorn: Nexus cried every time I beat him but still thought he was better.

Spiral low.
Make your hall at the tip of your island not the natural, build a few a gt or two and some grunts to stop the rush. Expand as soon as possible to your natural. Go straight for fort. Make two roosts, 1 temple, and altar. Research haste, lust, and mass dragons. Get a few dk's and ogres to lust and haste your dragons.
If the person goes any kind of shipyard/foundry, they're pretty much dead.

i havent played spiral low ever.
but by just doing some math.. 1 juggernaut can obliterate that first base.
and if you go expoing while the other person goes fast juggernaut, it will level the first base while your busy coming up with a cat the other person can come with a backup transport with 6 grunts..
dunno, maybe we can do a test sometime.. i almost always go juggernauts on that map heh _________________ http://phoenixtears.ca/

You will almost always mine out that mine before a jug hits. Then you just transfer to your expansion.

Hi kiddo. I'll share a new strategy with you. It is called a grunt rush.
1. Build hall
2. Farm
3. Rax
4. Farm (This peon keeps building farms when he is finished)
5. Smith
If you are at 12 or 2, get your 2nd barracks on step 6. Otherwise get it some place between the completion of your 3rd grunt and your first smith upgrade.
Good luck kiddo and happy gaming. _________________ I have hacks in my brain and I use them.

Only problem is this idea is coming from you. And you raged at me as soon as I did step 5. Raged for not building a 2nd rax first instead of a smith. Raged to the point we had to switch teams and have a forum feud on here.
And I know how to grunt rush, surely you haven't erased the beatdown I gave you when You were way ahead of me. 4 rax ogres against 2 rax footman lmao. That will never get old when said against you. Anyone else its just water under the bridge but with you, it really is a phenomenon in its own because of the irony.
Also happened to find these in this forum.

You know this, yet you rage at me for moving from there. Obviously thinking so highly of yourself that no one else is allowed to have fun but yourself. And then you had the nerve to say this to swift

a lot of variables at play here, but i have a mucher higher win percentage from s9 than i do from 6. it really depends on your strengths/weaknesses and style vs your opponents strengths/weaknesses and style so I don't think it's really universal that one spot is better than the other in 1s.
Wow. You make sense and don't come across as an arrogant prick.
You really are the definition of an arrogant prick. Lol

I raged at you for skipping step 6, build another barracks. I posted the most basic build order in the game and you still do not understand it.
I move from 6 to s9. I don't move from 6 to 12 or 2 or 11 or 9 or middle. That would be incredibly stupid. _________________ I have hacks in my brain and I use them.

step 1. Move to s9 from 25% of starting positions
step 2. Flame people who do otherwise
step 2. Make excuses if you get s9, calling it "not a real match"

I said long ago I think GOW is a stupid 1v1 map. 8 and 6 wreck it. I created a GOW map where 8 and 6 are not starting positions which I think everyone should use for 1s. _________________ I have hacks in my brain and I use them.
