I just found out today my sons elementary school is going to be like 9 miles from my house, when there's 4 elementary schools closer, one of which is within a mile from my house. is this how it is in most cities? like wtf

9 miles isn't far so who cares. if the population is dense enough maybe the other schools are already maxed. I went to a new middle school that opened up for 8th grade and had to drive past my old middle school everyday. It did really bug me at the time tho. changing schools for 1 grade and driving past my older school.
