Yep, thanks for caring. This discussion makes clear how much 15 big ones mean to you.

I think the only reason people are making a big deal of the 15 bucks, is because there are so many sites that put up the games for free like 3 or 4 days later.

Sure it's not the same as watching the "big game" on the day it happens, but people also don't put very much importance on video game watching as they would, say, the Super Bowl.

Myself I wouldn't pay 15 bucks, but I also wouldn't make fun of others that do. To each their own.

 | 10 is fair 15 is a little silly.
Their service is still deeply flawed. I end up watching most live broadcasts by a restream in Ustream. To watch the vods I often have to refresh their webpage 3 or 4 times for the stream to start.

I don't really see a difference between 10 and 15. 5 bucks is pocket change in today's economy. I see your point about the quality though.. they should definitely not be low def feeds and you should have dedicated bandwidth as a paying customer.

The problem is that they open up the live stream to everybody (or at least they did) and the paying customers get the shaft

 | The charge is monthly and the difference is that $15 is 150% more than $10. I have plenty of media fees I pay each month. GomTV is not worth $15/month or $180 a year. Is it worth $120 per year? Closer to the real value, still a little high._________________

 | imo it comes down to helping a fledgling entertainment form catering to a specific, tiny demographic gain an audience. Obviously the price is high but what many people seem to be oblivious to is that it takes money to make shit. I'd definitely feel different about "paying to watch video games" if it was an established genre with plenty of funding catering to a mass audience.
I wouldn't care about an idiot trolling but it can be pretty destructive to that cause to publicly shit talk the people supporting well-produced progaming within the tiny communities that do exist. But whatever gives you your "brief amusement" i.e. makes you feel better about yourself.

There's several billion people who would call you a complete unbridled faggot for playing so much warcraft 2 online. There were also some total losers who "paid for others to play video games" to help setup the private server so you could log thousands of war2 games with ur internet friend Mike Capuano. Either way you're a turbo nerd who plays warcraft and starcraft online and posts on warcraft forums, rofl.

 | It is safe to say no one agrees with Foonat. I rarely do. The guy has the maturity level of a 12 year old.
Gom is actually really entertaining to watch and it gets better every season.

 | Foonat think of it like watching basketball on tv...you pay for television possibly to watch sports primarily...its the same thing...you're a fan of people who have a talent to play a very difficult video game at a professional level...to some people like myself its highly interesting. Its absurdly hypocritical for you to bash people for doing that because you've spectated tons of war2 games. I almost never agree with Ash but hes dead on here. We can all agree its an insignificant amount of money anyways. |

 | spectated tons of war2 games for free*
you also need to understand that i don't give a fuck what anyone spends $15 on, i just think it's ridiculously funny to see ash fumble around trying to defend it while The Great Rob Pardo watches over his shoulder

edit: and you guys really need to stop comparing real sports to e-sports
