 | I don`t like amd either, I usually just go with what Intel is offering at the time. I also have doubts about the 2 or 4 cores, don`t know which option is better for me.
I also read in this same topic that ATI videocards are better than Nvidia`s, so I donīt know which one to get.
 Thanks for the help guys.

 | this processor looks good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115220
an aside about intel, i built my current comp about 2 years ago; 6 months after i built it the intel heatsink/fan crapped out and i had to buy a new one. it's very cheap and shitty but i guess you're paying for the processor not the garbage fan that it comes with

 | i don't know much about the comparisons between video cards. honestly if you're not going to be doing anything crazy and just playing sc2 as your biggest resource hog it probably doesn't matter |

 | I think im going to buy something like that , an i5, 2 or 4 gb ram ddr3, a 1028mb video (still not sure if nvidia or ati), 500 or 1TB HDD and a mobo that can run it all. |

 | personally im going to get a mid level dual core cpu a decent mobo and good ram and a good power supply and then overclock it all and spend a few less bucks
if i bought a video card today id probably get a 9800gtx

for 700 bucks do you need everything or do u have things like a monitor etc.. u can reuse?

 | AMD is good. Not sure why you'd want to pay more for intel, but that's your choice. Amd quads are p cheap depending what you want. You could get an athlon 4x for around 120 USD. I kinda got a higher end Video card for around 300. You could go quite a bit cheaper just to run sc2.
You should be able to build a p good cpu for 700. if you alrdy have the peripherals.

waiting for sc2 to patch i looked up my cpu and i paid the same at frys as they had on tigerdirect and newegg

you should check disc management under windows, see if it's showing 500gb there.. If not try running check disc. You might need to replace it

I did, sorry for not answering before, i`ve been playing sc2.
I went with the intel i5 that foon recommended, 4g ram ddr3.
With the video card i bought an ATI 5450 1024mb ddr3.

Sc2 runs smoothly but not in full settings, because of the gpu... but it works fine. It costed me around 800, not too bad since im in Chile.

I can run it on ultra, but if i have 130+ food it starts to be a lil choppy...
The gpu might sound better than what it is, it costed me 75 bucks and its definitely not good.
