Um... It sounds like you got the idea to me... 3 farms, and then a barracks. If you're talking about where to put peons, I always use Axolotl's and Kith's method:
1st peon gold
2nd peon gold
3rd peon gold
When fourth peon is almost done, take a peon off gold and put on lumber
4th peon lumber
5th peon 1 trip gold lumber
After second peon takes in load, get him to build a farm
6th peon lumber
7th peon gold
8th peon gold
9th peon build farm
After farm is finished, barracks. 3fb.

2nd gold
3rd gold
before 4th is done pull 2! from gold and put on wood.
4th goes gold
5th goes for one trip of gold, then lumber
build farm with a lumberer that goes in
6th gold
7th gold 8th builds farm
9th gold
10th gold for a trip then lumber
11th builds farm
12th gold
13th gold
Now depending on the map, either stop building peons and put 10 gold and 3 wood, or else keep building peons alternating between gold and wood. Start going more gold intense and pulling off gold once you got around 12 on gold. Rax is generally built by the peon that finished building farm 3. Then around when rax is half finished farm 4 goes up. Then after about 2 grunts you can afford a smith. Something like that. I forget it all exactly.
But its close enough.
