 XP Problem.. can it be fixed

This install is for a friends machine and I had to upgrade it to XP from 98se, because of an Secondary IDE Faliure .. on the cdrom. But now everthing is fixed.. he he he .. so my Q to you warcraft 2 nuts is can it be played in XP with out XP just killing the dos window!!! :P
