Voobly.com is basically a clone of zone for those who used to play there They have lots of RTS games War3, Age of Mythology etc but surprisingly no war2..

There are currently 2000 players playing Age of Empires 2 on there so if we could get war2 hosted on there, the potential for players would be huge.

This server has an anti hack for AOE2 which stops maphacking among other things in AOE2. I wonder if they could program something similar to stop map hacking in Warcraft 2.

UPDATE: If you want this done, vote for it in the forums. We need 50 votes and they will do it. Also, leave a comment this will help. :

If you actually go to the Voobly website and click the 'Popular' games tab. You'll notice around 2000 players in Age of Empires II...yet almost every other popular game has less then 50 players and drops pretty fast. It's really adorable that your trying to be a big boy and save a game that's forever dead. Considering the remnants of this dead community will ban any new players from games. Pros only play with pros. You think if anyone from that site even played War2 none of them would remotely have any idea how to play. Stick with your 20-30 player base with ru because that's all your ever going to get sweetheart.

This server will also fix all the hosting problems so new players can host their own games and play with each other.

Thats actually a good thing. Right now the top 3 games are:

Age of Empires II: The Conquerors
(1880 Players)
Age of Mythology: The Titans
(221 Players)
Age of Empires
(43 Players)

IF our server moved there, we could permanantly take the 3rd spot based on our current server numbers. Our goal would be to steal players from the first 2 games and if we were in the top 3 popular games constantly we could do it.

Also, these players aren't total noobs, they are RTS players so they could adapt much faster than the standard wow noob.

that thing probably is a lan emulator as there are hundreds of those type of apps around

but war2 uses an old discountinued protocol called IPX and ppl would need to get and install some custom made ipx network protocol before they even get to play, and thats probably reason #1 why these type of programs dont have war2 in their game list.

i jumped to all this conclusions without even seeing or downloading shit yo nooblets, but i bet its all true. noobs

www.gameranger.com player database most likely has 10x the players this voobly thing has..... but i dunno, not sure....i dont game anymore

They shut down the warcraft 2 on there so we had no choice, now all they have left is card and puzzle games.

They have tons of old games hosted on there, Total Annhilation and Age of Empires 1 which both are from 1997. They have this issue all figured out already.

This is true, it would be like back on zone which I think is a good thing. I always hated being stuck in this big obtrusive full screen window which you had to minimize to do other things while waiting for a game or something and you always had to keep checking back to see if the game started etc.
