I was afraid we'd face brooklyn - IMO they're the 2nd/3rd best team in the east. Half of their roster have been sleeping all season waiting for the playoffs to start.

on the other side of the playoffs...man I love me some kevin durant and russell westbrook, but without Ibaka they seem pretty doomed. They can get good minutes from some of their other guys, maybe some collison points, some bonus sefalosha points, reggie jackson could average 15ppg...but without Ibaka in there I don't think they have any chance at containing the spurs offense. They can't switch as freely without Ibaka (ibaka and durant can basically switch on all 3s, 4s, 5s) and they have basically zero help defense. Steven Adams is a pretty decent man to man defender, but is totally lost in help defense. Perkins same story, good man to man, too slow for help D. The thunder are still younger and more athetletic, so maybe if they push the tempo and try for 110point games they can still win (duncan, diaw, ginobili, tiago splitter are all 4 very slow in transition)...but i just dont see another team dictating a game's strategy to the spurs and popovich.

spurs in 4 (+1 game for every KD+RW game w/ 80pts+ combined, will probably happen once or twice)

the drop off from indiana to toronto is still huge, no disrespect to the raptors, they are having a great season.
the pacers starting 5 is the best starting unit in the NBA as far as I am concerned, I really don't expect one of these middle tier east teams to actually compete with them. Maybe the Nets could beat them, but I doubt that also.
thats the thing though, you have complete faith apparently that the pacers can snap back into shape when the playoffs start. we dont know if they can pull it together for sure though, we have no idea how toxic it's gotten in that locker room. they keep getting worse instead of better
i never really had faith that they would "snap out" of their slump. The Eastern Conference just only really had 2 playoff teams, and Indiana, as dysfunctional as they were at the time, was one of them.
