 | DOA is leaving, thank god.
I got to agree with KHB but the game is still evolving. Still being balanced and there are expansions to come out.

Hopefully the root of the problem isn't that so much of the mechanics is automated.

I think with new maps, patches and expansions, it should be pretty fresh for new strategies for a while. But I agree, when things become too automated, e.g., macrobotting becoming really refined, the game gets less entertaining.

I still wanna see island maps, even if only mirror-matchups.

Who's casting Code A then? I didn't mind DOA so much as Moletrap + DOA, which is a disaster.

 | Its Wolf and Moletrap casting now. Each caster for Code A stays for a 2 month program or something. They will keep adding new Code A casters every season.
With HOTS coming out soon this game will keep evolving.

That is just a PR explanation to fire casters. If Kelly or Doa were good they'd never have been let go.

 | It was outlined before they even started bringing new casters in. Its some kind of program they got. They get to stay in the GOM house for 2 months._________________

 | Did anyone catch the recent GSL match between HongUnPrime and oGsMC? Rofl. The 2 time champ gets taken out by the 0-6 scrub. Lots of laughs there._________________

 | Yes but just shows how lame sc2 actually is. It's all build order LUCK.
If you dont 4 gate against someone who is 4 gating = auto lose.

Even the best protoss in the world cant beat some scrubs 4 gate.

 Very zzzz

Oh and the Code A final was the same, 4 gates every game...

 | Agreed. I hate watching mirror matches in general. But to watch 4 gate every game, yawn. Perhaps after HOTS we can see some more interesting PVP._________________

 | BTW, I don't play protoss, but I had an idea for a possible tweak that might make a PvP 4 gate counter more viable. What if the robotics facility build time was decreased so you can get immortals a bit quicker? Perhaps increase robotics bay build time by the same amount so that colossus timings are unaffected? What do you think?_________________

 | It might make for some interesting immortal rushes against other races. It could imbalance the match ups or make them better. They should try it out. Maybe they did in private and found it imbalanced the game._________________

 | I find that pvp at a high level can be entertaining. Watching HuK play against koreans is usually impressive. I think the problem isn't just the 4 gating, it's that the games never evolve beyond collosus after that.
Blink stalkers kinda own 4 gating at a high level

 | I rarely see them reach colossus. Most games end with the 4 gate or blink stalkers. It is like every game is a 12 vs 2 peon stop rush war. Consequences of allowing the offensive side to spawn units outside and inside their opponents base.
I saw one match up in GSL where every game was a 4 gate and it was pretty dull. Code A finals or semi finals.

This is not true, if you execute the build properly you will hit way before blink is finished. While the micro at top levels is impressive, it's still boring 2 see the same build over and over

 | I assume you meant does terran ever get tanks vs protoss? Sure. There is currently a very nasty timing attack terrans are using against toss that consists of tanks/marines/banshees, and maybe a raven. Poor Tassadar ran into the build 3 times in the up and down matches and could not stop it. You might want to check out these games:
 GSL4 - Ro16 - Code S - Group A - M3.02 - TricKsteR vs TSL_Clide
 GSL4 - 2011 07 27 - UpDown - Group B - M03 - NSHoSeoTassadar vs asdfOu
 GSL4 - 2011 07 27 - UpDown - Group B - M05 - NSHoSeoTassadar vs sCfOu
 GSL4 - 2011 07 27 - UpDown - Group B - M07 - NSHoSeoTassadar vs MVPNoblesse

 | I don't like seeing so many terrans in the tournaments. Blizzard should throw out a few more Terran nerfs and see if it helps make the other races more popular._________________
