It scares me, or would if I lived in America.
I don't know what sort of retarded economic model they have in place, but the entire US economy just seems to be based around borrowing money and spending it. The only way the I see for US will get out of this situation is inflating their way out of debt, which will not be pleasant for citizens.

Debt forgiveness.
It's going to happen I think, otherwise their economy is eventually going to collapse big time.

i tend to agree with this. i'm not looking forward to it either. that's what this new $800B is going to do since nobody's buying the debt anymore. we're going to have to print a good portion of that. $800B should do if they point it in the right direction and keep careful track of where it's going (unlike the last attempt). hopefully it doesn't all end up in pet projects and stuff like that. the last draft seemed to be put together very sloppily. anyone who was drafting legislation before just kind of threw it on the pile and called it "stimulus".
